How this alert handles each sample job
Sample jobResultWhy
Webflow website for a design studio$1,500.00 fixedMatchesA keyword matches, $1,500 meets the $1,000 minimum, payment is verified and $18,000 client spend meets the $10,000 minimum.
Webflow landing page$800.00 fixedRejected$800 is below this alert’s $1,000 minimum. No matching notification.
Webflow site, client details unavailable$1,500.00 fixedSkippedClient filters are enabled, but verification and spend cannot be checked. The job is skipped, not assumed to qualify.
Unpaid Webflow internship$1,500.00 fixedRejectedAn exclusion matches. A positive Webflow match does not override unpaid or internship.

Qualifying job reason: Matched keyword "Webflow" in title. With email enabled for both the alert and account, this match queues the notification shown below.

Know what
your filters mean.

Keywords and exclusions
Any one positive phrase can match, case-insensitively, in the title, skills or description. Any exclusion blocks the job. “Webflow” does not require “website” too. This is literal matching, not AI interpretation; regex is optional.
Budget and hourly ranges
Fixed-price limits check a stated budget. An hourly minimum checks the range’s upper rate (or its only rate): $20–$40/hr can pass a $30 minimum. That does not guarantee a $30 offer. Jobs with undisclosed prices can pass price filters.
Client history
Filter by payment verification, spend, rating, reviews, hire rate, open jobs, average hourly rate and country. Client filters depend on available source data. Missing required client information means the job is skipped.

The match.
In your inbox.

Email
Queued when the alert’s Email switch and your account’s email alerts are both on. You do not need to leave the app open. Available job and client facts appear with the matching reason.
In-app
Matches appear in the notification feed and history for review when you sign in.
Browser
Requires permission, enabled notifications on that device and an active signed-in app tab. The app polls for new matches; this is not background push after closing it.

Real email links open the job or application page on Upwork. Read the full brief and current client details before choosing to submit manually. This sample’s buttons return to its explanation.

Prepare your introduction.

Optionally use your recording, a reusable template and relevant portfolio work to prepare a video pitch. Review the generated result and share its link yourself. Watch analytics describe video engagement, not Upwork proposal views.

Practical questions.
Before you start.

How is this different from Upwork’s own alerts?

Upwork’s native alerts use your individual proposal history; its current help lists Freelancer Plus and a proposal on an active job as requirements, with contract-type and rate preferences. Pitching Pilot is a separate service using your explicit keywords, exclusions and job/client filters. Read Upwork’s current alert guidance (checked October 31, 2026).

How quickly will I receive a job alert?

Monitoring runs on a recurring server schedule, then notifications are queued. Source availability, processing and email delivery affect timing. Instant delivery, every marketplace job and historical backfill are not guaranteed.

How do I pause or change an alert?

Use the alert’s active switch on the dashboard to stop future matching; edit its keywords or filters, or delete it. Previously queued notifications may still arrive. Reactivating or editing an alert does not automatically search all older jobs.

Why am I not receiving matches or emails?

Check the alert is active and your account access is current. Check both email switches and your spam folder. Strict client filters skip jobs with missing required details. For browser notices, keep the signed-in app open and check device permissions. Too much noise? Narrow the keywords or add exclusions.

Does Pitching Pilot apply for me or have Upwork’s endorsement?

No. You review and submit applications yourself. Pitching Pilot is independent of Upwork and uses scheduled requests to monitor job data; manual submission does not establish authorization for automated monitoring. Upwork restricts unapproved automation, including some job-watcher tools. Read Upwork’s automation rules. We do not promise account safety or Upwork approval.
